O.C. and Linda Ferrell AMSR Long-Term Impact Best Paper Award
The O.C. and Linda Ferrell Long-Term Impact Best Paper Award recognizes the best AMS Review (AMSR) article that was published at least six years ago and make a significant contribution to marketing theory. The award is named in honor of O.C. and Linda Ferrell.
Dr. O.C. Ferrell is the James T. Pursell Sr. Eminent Scholar in Ethics and Director of the Center for Ethical Organizational Cultures at Auburn University. He has served on the faculty at several universities, including Belmont University, the University of New Mexico, the University of Wyoming, Texas A&M University, and the University of Michigan. A Past President of the Academy of Marketing Science, Dr. Ferrell is also the co-author of several leading textbooks, including Business Ethics: Ethical Decision Making and Cases, Marketing, Marketing Strategy, Business and Society, Management, and Introduction to Business.
Dr. Linda Ferrell is the Globe Life Professor of Marketing, Harbert College of Business, Auburn University and is an AMS Past President. She has served on the faculty at Belmont University, University of New Mexico, University of Wyoming, University of Northern Colorado, Colorado State University, and University of Tampa. She has co-authored numerous books including Business Ethics: Ethical Decision Making and Cases, Business and Society, Management (3rd), and Introduction to Business.
Eligibility
All papers published in a volume of AMSR at least six years prior to the adjudication process are eligible. Any article authored or coauthored by a member of the selection committee is ineligible.
Selection Process
A selection panel, overseen by the Board of Governors, determines the winner. The panel will include at least two former AMS Review editors, the AMS vice president of publications, and two current members of the Board of Governors. By March 1 of the relevant year, the panel will submit its selection to the chair of the Board of Governors and the AMS president. The selection will either be accepted at that time or sent back for further evaluation or additional work, if needed.
