Martin Key

Director of AI Strategy


Thomas “Martin” Key has over twenty years of business experience and twelve years in higher education. He is currently Professor of Digital Strategy & Marketing, Chair of the Marketing, Strategy, and International Business department, and Director of Campus Coursera Programs at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS). He previously served as Director of Executive Education and Associate Dean of Strategic Initiatives at UCCS. Dr. Key’s original training was in Cultural Anthropology followed by his first business venture and later a PhD in Business Administration. He regularly consults with small and medium sized startup, as well as established organizations. His research centers on theory building and conceptual development around digital and strategic issues at the executive level. His most recent work centers on the safe and ethical use of generative AI in business applications and workplace resilience. He has published in journals such as the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, AMS Review, European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Business Research, and Business Horizons.
