Jane K. Fenyo Best Student Research Paper Award
The Jane K. Fenyo Best Student Research Paper Award is awarded to the best full paper submitted by student authors at the AMS Annual Conference. The student paper competition, which began in 1977, was renamed in memory of Dr. Jane K. Fenyo in 1982, who passed away in an automobile accident one year before. AMS Founder Dr. Harold Berkman met Dr. Fenyo, an English professor, while serving on a committee at Long Island University. Dr. Berkman recruited Dr. Fenyo to become the first editor of the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science (JAMS).
Eligibility Requirements
All student papers submitted to the conference, with the exception of papers submitted as part of a special session proposal or papers submitted to the Doctoral Colloquium, are eligible for the Jane K. Fenyo Best Student Research Paper Award. Only papers solely authored by a student or a team of students are eligible. Faculty coauthored papers are not eligible. At the time of acceptance for presentation on the program, the authors must be enrolled full-time at a recognized university.
Selection Process
Winners are selected through a process overseen by the AMS Annual Conference Program Chair(s). At the discretion of the Program Chair(s), a subcommittee may assist in the selection process. Papers are nominated for the award by reviewers through the competitive review process. The Program Chair(s) is responsible for selecting the final choice for the M. Wayne DeLozier Best Conference Paper Award.
Winner Recognition
Winners are awarded a certificate in addition to a $200* check drawn from a U.S. bank. Wire transactions are available for international recipients. Note: For papers with more than one author, the certificate and funds will be distributed to the first author. It is at the discretion of the first author to divide the funds.
