To be held in Reims, France July 20 - July 23, 2011. Reims is the capital city of Champagne and in many ways the historical center of France. The Call for Papers describes several ways in which you can participate and be a part of a great program.
Pictured here is the Cathedral of Notre-Dame (Our Lady) in Reims. The people of Reims are very proud of this historic ediface. On this site, St. Remi (the name Reims comes from the Remi) baptized Clovis I in 496 A.D. and crowned him King of all Franks. The modern Cathedral dates to the 12th Century and following the tradition of King Clovis, the Cathedral was the site of the coronation of French kings and queens for centuries. Joan of Arc led French forces freeing communities from Orleans to Reims to deliver Charles VII to this very Cathedral where he was crowned King of France in 1429. Reims is also home to the building where War World II ended with the surrender of the Axis to the Allies in 1945. And of course, Reims remains the epicenter of the Champagne world and is surrounded by villages embodied with "la joie de vie" of the Champagnois.
